The car seemed great upon pickup and the location was convenient. I did have to knock on their door to get the code for the key, but otherwise everything went smoothly and the car drove fine initially.

The day after pickup, I drove about 4 hours to my destination and parked the car at a family member’s home. It was parked in their garage for about 32 hours. The following day, their spouse noticed a strong smell and checked under the vehicle, where they found it had leaked oil. The cover underneath also had holes, and what appeared to be an oil-soaked towel or paper towels was visible in one of the larger openings. After seeing photos of the underside, I did not feel it was safe to continue driving.

I messaged the host right away (late at night,) then contacted support the next morning. Roadside assistance was helpful and arranged a tow quickly, and I was able to receive a refund.

That said, the situation was stressful. I was supposed to leave the next day, and had to scramble to find a last minute rental during spring break when options were extremely limited. It worked out in the end, but it could have been avoided.

The host was pleasant, but communication was minimal. I can’t say whether they were aware of the issue, but the condition of the underside (specifically oil leakage and what appeared to be absorbent material tucked into the undercarriage) raised concerns about the vehicle’s safety and maintenance.

Overall, the start of the trip was smooth, but the mechanical issue significantly impacted my experience.

Easy contactless pick up and drop off and the owner was very responsive and helpful when I messaged a question. Comfortable ride and I loved the panoramic moon roof! Will definitely rent again.

She was a fantastic host, couldn’t get better than this.
