Car smelled of marijuana, car had a flat tire, host never replied to me or Turo Customer Service. Had to book a car 35 min away due to being last minute.

Extremely stressful experience during what was supposed to be a family vacation in Hawaii. I discovered multiple roaches and additional live bugs inside the rental vehicle, including in the upholstery/seating areas. I documented everything with photos and videos because the situation became serious enough that I no longer felt comfortable transporting myself or my son in the vehicle.
What made the experience even worse was the constant back-and-forth afterward. I repeatedly explained the situation to multiple representatives, received conflicting instructions regarding the return process, and was still being pressured to continue driving the vehicle despite the documented sanitation concerns.
I had to throw away food, purchase cleaning/sanitation supplies, rearrange transportation, and spend a large portion of my vacation dealing with an issue that should never have happened in the first place.
I understand Hawaii’s climate can sometimes attract insects, but a rental vehicle should still be properly cleaned, maintained, and safe for guests before being rented out. I strongly recommend future renters thoroughly inspect the vehicle immediately upon pickup and document any concerns right away.
