Unfortunately, this was a nightmare rental and will be my last time renting from Alvin.
The BMW X2 smelled strongly of smoke, and I found two roaches on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat. The interior was in disrepair and visibly falling apart, with trim and mountings coming loose in the back. The lock and unlock buttons were also missing.
More seriously, the vehicle was delivered with a severe oil deficiency and low tire pressure. The rear driver-side tire continued losing pressure throughout my trip, which is a serious safety issue. If you rent this vehicle, please make sure these problems have been properly repaired before driving it.
Although the car was dropped off the night before my 9:00 a.m. reservation, it was not ready or safe to use. I could not drive it to work and had to miss an entire day while arranging for someone to change the oil.. maintenance that should have been completed before the vehicle was delivered.
I have spent nearly $800 renting from Alvin over the past two weeks. Given the vehicle’s condition, the missed day of work, and the numerous safety and sanitation issues, I requested a discount or credit. My request was neither addressed nor acknowledged.
A rental vehicle should be clean, properly maintained, and safe to drive from the beginning of the reservation. This one was none of those things.
