Our first time using Turo—and unfortunately, it will be our last.
We rented a car for a week from Syed. Right from the start, the vehicle had a service light on. We sent him a photo, and he told us he would take care of it after our trip. As we continued driving, we noticed the car would vibrate when braking, which made us suspect the brakes needed attention.
On our return trip, things got worse—the vibration got bad and we ended up with a flat tire. The jack provided in the vehicle was incomplete and unusable, leaving us stranded until we were able to find a kind stranger to help us. We contacted Syed, explained the situation, and he told us to go ahead and purchase a replacement tire, assuring us we would be reimbursed.
This happened on Friday, 3/20/26. The mechanics we visited were shocked the car was even being rented out in that condition. They informed us the vehicle had a severe alignment issue, which caused just the inside edge of the tire to wear out to the point it ruptured the inner tire wall causing the flat. We provided Syed with photos and documentation from the shop.
Despite all of this, we still have not received reimbursement.
We spent over $1,400 on this rental, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The lack of maintenance and follow-through feels very unprofessional. Given that this host manages a large fleet, it raises serious concerns about how these vehicles are maintained.
Overall, a frustrating and unsafe experience.
Thank you for your feedback, anytime there is a flat tire guest call Turo guest services and they send a tow truck or guidance. We always maintain each and every vehicle. In your case it was the tire because of the road debris or something else we don’t know. If anyone can see their where other guest booked the same car after your reservation and the car received 5start rating. We would respectfully decline your assessment. We are committed to provide best service and quality cars.
