Car was supposed to have snow tires as I was taking my wide kids to big bear from Friday to Monday. I messaged to confirm two days before the trip and was told there were chains in the back but no snow tires. I said i don't know how to put chains on. Brett, the contact said they are super easy. I tried to search for another car and cancel but couldn't because I already had a trip booked, so I was stuck with car and chains.
On Sunday morning, we learned there was a storm coming in, I took the car to a gas station and paid the worker $20 to put on the chains. He said he had done this 100s of times and they didn't fit the car.
When I told the contact Brett, he said he actually had never put the snow chains ok but assumed they works because no-one had ever complained in gbe past. I ended up having to end my trip early and left Sunday which meant we didn't even get to see snow. We were all super bummed and kids were crying. Lost out on $800 in value on our vrbo by returning early and not staying that night.
I had used Turo for snow times in the past and never had any issue with those owners.
I returned the car 7 hours early. When I called to complain to Turo, the rep Hamed said it was my fault for accepting the car without snow tires and could not do anything for me.
I advised you ahead a time and that it had snow chains. Those same chains had been used by multiple customers as well as myself on the truck and I have never had a complaint or any issues. I’m sorry you or the gas station attendant don’t know how to put chains on.
