We really enjoyed this Escalade. The hosts were friendly, patient, and accommodating, with convenient delivery and return at our requested residence. The vehicle was clean overall, comfortable, and ideal for our two toddlers and two older boys.
One older boy jokingly claimed he was “too fat” for the third row and deserved a captain’s chair or shotgun, but that argument ended when his adult-sized dad sat comfortably back there. There was plenty of room, even with a car seat installed, and I could keep the front passenger seat at a comfortable distance without being crunched against the dashboard.
The screens made traveling with the toddlers much easier. The strong rear airflow and Cabin Talk were excellent. My husband has hearing loss from years around oilfield work, and Cabin Talk let everyone communicate without shouting.
The diesel Escalade had great acceleration, handled and parked surprisingly well for its size, and the Sport and Off-Road modes were fun to try. The diesel sound was more noticeable than in our newer Ram 2500 Mega Cab but still comfortable inside.
Our return day was hectic because we were moving out of an Airbnb, visiting family, and managing two cranky toddlers, and the hosts remained patient and helpful. I would happily recommend this Escalade and host. The prepaid refueling option would also be worthwhile for a busy family return day.
