I want to be completely honest about my experience renting the Genesis GV70. The vehicle itself was amazing—it drove beautifully, was clean in appearance, and I truly enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, my experience with the host was disappointing. Before I picked up the car, the host asked if I was a smoker and said that if I was, I should cancel my reservation. I am not a smoker and cannot tolerate cigarette smoke. However, as soon as I unlocked the car door, I was immediately hit with a strong cigarette smoke odor.
I brought it to the host’s attention right away, and he acknowledged it by saying he would have the car deep cleaned. That told me he was already aware of the issue. In my opinion, the deep cleaning should have been completed before the vehicle was rented to me, not afterward.
My daughter and I had to endure the smoke smell throughout our rental, and it caused headaches and discomfort. While I loved the Genesis G70 itself, I believe renters should be informed about issues like this in advance, especially when they affect the comfort and health of their guests.
