My overall experience with Turo was mixed.

This was my first time using the platform, and I was already a bit hesitant because I wasn’t fully familiar with the process.

However, there was a serious issue that made the experience uncomfortable and concerning. Early the next morning after receiving the vehicle, during the beginning of my rental period, the host contacted me asking me to return the car immediately because he had left an item inside. Shortly after reaching out, he showed up at my home unannounced around 4:00 a.m., which was extremely inappropriate and unsettling.

It was later revealed that the item left in the vehicle was a firearm, which raised major safety concerns.

While the host did apologize, the situation should never have happened. Showing up at a renter’s home uninvited crosses serious boundaries and does not reflect a professional or business-appropriate approach.

Because of this, I would be cautious using this platform again. While the vehicle and booking process were positive, safety and professionalism should always be a top priority

Despite that, the booking itself was smooth and straightforward. The host was on time, and the vehicle was clean, reliable, and exactly as described. From a functionality standpoint, everything went well with the rental.
