I experienced several issues regarding my recent car rental experience, and first using Turo.
Unfortunately, the pickup process and the condition of the vehicle were far below expectations, as detailed below:
- Unclear Pickup Location and Vehicle Details: The owner left the car in a large parking lot without providing the license plate number. Because this particular make, model, and color are extremely common in the area, there were multiple identical cars parked nearby. I had to manually check several vehicles to locate the hidden key. I left a phone message for the owner requesting the license plate number, but her response via the messaging system arrived much later and was not helpful during the process.
- Strong Cigarette Smoke Odor: While the car appeared clean on the surface, the interior reeked heavily of cigarette smoke. The smell was pervasive and nauseating throughout the entire experience.
- Missing Fuel Specifications: The owner did not preemptively provide information regarding the required gas type, which is critical to avoid damaging the vehicle's engine.

Diane's Lexus SUV is gorgeous smelled great and looked even newer than I thought it would. She made it very easy to extend an extra day and she has excellent communication. Highly recommend!!!
