The car itself was great, and having Full Self-Driving (FSD) included was a fantastic perk and genuinely a lifesaver during my trip.
My main frustration was with some of the host’s policies. When returning the vehicle, the app told me I would be fined if I didn’t have it washed at a specific car wash. In all my years of renting cars, I’ve never been required to wash one before returning it. I believe this should be the host’s responsibility, particularly since when reserving the car, the Turo listing explicitly stated “no car wash necessary.” Despite the conflicting information, I had the car washed to avoid any complications - just inconvenient and time consuming.
Additionally, the listing stated there would be a $50 fine for an FSD strikeout. These can occasionally happen during normal use (i’ve owned a Tesla for seven years), and Tesla doesn’t impose a monetary penalty for them and will remove them after a week if you accumulate five strikeouts. Although I did not receive a strike out, I found this additional charge unnecessary and unreasonable.
Overall, I enjoyed the vehicle, host was responsive answering any questions I had and appreciated having FSD, but these extra rules and potential fees detracted from an otherwise positive rental experience.

My wife was generally interested in both for model Y and self driving and keeps car provided both products with one car rental have to say I am extremely surprised in how well the self driving programming works on these Tesla vehicles. He is an extremely valuable host. Wish there was more people like him on these apps definitely A all the way!
