The car itself was very nice, and I honestly had no issues with the vehicle. My only concern was the host’s communication, which I found to be poor and not very responsive. Perhaps I’m used to hosts who are more attentive, but my review is based on several situations that affected my overall experience.

I travel frequently for work, so I always try to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary delays. I messaged the host the day before my reservation to make sure everything would be ready on time. My reservation started at 10:00 AM, and I was told that pickup instructions would be provided an hour beforehand. However, I didn’t receive any information until 10:01 AM, when I should have already been in the car. Instead, I was still at the airport, unsure where to go.

Apparently, the pickup instructions were provided through Turo rather than directly by the host. Unfortunately, I had difficulty locating the vehicle, and when I reached out for assistance, the responses were limited and not particularly helpful. As a result, I didn’t reach the car until approximately an hour later, causing me to miss an important meeting scheduled for 10:30 AM.

When I picked up the car, the gas tank was only half full. I mentioned this simply to document the fuel level, but the host responded that I hadn’t paid for that. I wasn’t aware that receiving the vehicle with a full tank required an additional payment, and I found the response unnecessary. I also noticed that the windshield washer fluid was empty.

Finally, I requested a one-hour extension and never received a response.

This was honestly my first time having such an uncomfortable experience with a Turo host. Reliable transportation and clear communication are especially important to me because I travel for business and need to stay on schedule.

I’ll be working in Dallas for the next two months, which means I’ll need to rent a vehicle every week. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I’ll be choosing a different host moving forward.

Again, the car itself was great, and I had absolutely no complaints about how it drove. My disappointment was entirely with the communication, responsiveness, and overall customer service. I believe that with better communication and a little more attention to guests’ needs, this could have been a much better experience.
