Last minute change but felt that it could’ve been handled more appropriately, vehicle is good to drive tho!

Gave this rating b/c upon p/u, the vehicle reeked badly of weed. At check-in, I contacted the owner and let him know of the strong odor, and he apologized, stating that he forgot to inform me that the previous renter, left the vehicle that way.
Because the smell was so bad, I attempted to ‘end the trip’ the next day; I originally paid to rent this vehicle for a whole week, but my family and I couldn’t bear the smell. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t receive the refund in time to pay for another booking, so I took a hit with this rental.
I did what I could to help eliminate the smell; Lysol spray, left the windows down during the day when the sun was out, put extra car potpourri, even used sheets to cover the back seat when I took my little ones to school. Still, nothing helped.
Also, on two occasions, the vehicle shook/sputtered when I reached 30-35mph while driving.
The owner reached out to me yesterday to check status of the rental, and I let him know about these issues, but my main concern was being held responsible for the odor of the car.
The owner offered to compensate for the inconveniences, so I’ll see how that goes.
Vehicle got us from point A to point B.
