I’ve used Toro many times and have Never had a bad experience, I’ve had easy pleasant experiences and always a repeat customer This experience was weird from the beginning Car was listed in Escondido was actually located in Valley Center owner had a difficult time getting a ride to drop off. It took him longer than he thought it would to get down to Escondido so at one point, I suggested driving it to our house so I could return the other Toro on time ( I would have been happy to pay a small delivery fee) but he said that he didn’t want to inconvenience his ride. Directly after picking up the car, my husband messaged jack about returning in the car and canceling trip because of a very unpleasant smell but because of the hassle, we decided to keep it and just left the windows rolled down. The owner was very apologetic about the smell and inconveniences ( he asked us to drop off the car at a different location so he didn’t have to walk From from the Home Depot to get the car washed the next day) after all this Jack ended up charging us a $25 incidental fee for the tiny gas discrepancy which I’ve never dealt with because I’ve always picked up rental cars full and returned the car full. So to be charged an incidental fee after he was so apologetic about other issues, I thought it was odd. I took pictures of the gas gauge and screenshots of our correspondence, but this review is getting way too long and it’s just so silly to be petty so overall, it wasn’t a great experience. I wish him well and hope he can continue to build his business, but perhaps change the listing of the location of the car at the very least and fill the car up, so there’s no confusion regarding the gas level.
So yes, I moved from that address two days prior to the rental, but tried to accommodate delivering at or near the pick up address not an additional 15 minutes away.. They complained of an odd smell, I offered a return they declined and then stated they had an issue picking up their next vehicle so I allowed them to deliver it an hour late, to go pick up another car and they couldn’t even replace the gas used which was a quarter tank I attempted to resolve off Turo which they declined I tried
