Overall, the rental served its purpose, but I wouldn’t choose this specific vehicle or host again.
The vehicle was a newer model (2022 Honda HR-V), but the ride quality was surprisingly uncomfortable. It drove more like an older compact SUV than I expected. While this isn’t necessarily the host’s fault, I wouldn’t recommend this vehicle for long-distance travel, especially considering the rental rate.
My biggest concern was the drop-off experience. While I was parked in the back of the facility transferring my belongings, inspecting the vehicle, and making sure it was clean before returning it, I was approached twice by two different staff members telling me I needed to move the vehicle to the front entrance. At the time, I still had 15 minutes remaining in my reservation (plus the complimentary 30-minute grace period), and it was obvious I was actively unloading—the doors and rear hatch were open while I organized my belongings.
What I found frustrating was that no one first asked whether I needed assistance or if I was almost finished. Instead, they immediately instructed me to move the vehicle. I chose the back of the lot because it was the only area with enough space to safely transfer my items, as the rest of the lot was filled with vehicles being serviced or rented.
If unloading or temporarily parking in that area isn’t permitted, that expectation should be clearly stated in the pickup and drop-off instructions. It wasn’t mentioned anywhere, so I had no way of knowing.
The rental ultimately met my transportation needs, but based on both the vehicle’s comfort and the drop-off experience, I would not rent this particular vehicle again or book with this host in the future.
