Less than 14 hours before the trip was set to begin, the host contacted me that the vehicle I reserved was unavailable. They offered this as a replacement, and with having little time to make other arrangements, I accepted the replacement. It was late being delivered, which was communicated by the host, and when I opened the door, I immediately smelled smoke. Again, with the trip starting and I did not want to delay my trip any longer, I did the best I could to air it out for approximately 30 minutes prior to starting the trip.
The Jeep itself was fun to drive, although I cannot confidently say I would use this company again as a rental. After my experience, I read other reviews and saw similar reports of the smell of smoke being detected in other vehicles. As a non-smoker and someone with allergies, I can be extremely sensitive to the smell. When renting a vehicle through a company that has guidelines around no smoking in vehicles, I thought I would be getting a smoke free vehicle, and I was disappointed.
