Title: Predatory Fees and a Difficult Return Process
I am leaving this review to warn others that this host prioritizes "gotcha" fees over customer service. Due to a 6:00 AM clerical error on the return time, I experienced what I consider predatory business practices.
The "Typo Trap":
The host messaged me at 9:34AM asking if I was extending, but by 10:19/10:45 AM, he had already blocked the extension feature on his end. This intentional move prevented me from fixing the error at the standard daily rate, forcing the system to charge an "Additional Usage" rate. This brought the total fee with extension to $151—nearly double the standard price for a duration that should have cost significantly less. Same days same time Wednesday-Friday weekly ranges $74-$129
The Difficult Return:
Even when I tried to return the vehicle early (8:30 PM), the process was far from seamless. I had to contact customer service just to get the return time modified because the host was unhelpful. Between the obstructed extension and the non-instant response during the return, this was a high-stress, overcharged experience.
I have a list of "Favorite" hosts who value return customers and handle human errors with professional grace. This host, however, chose a one-time "poaching" of $151 over building a long-term business relationship. Save yourself the headache and the money—book with someone else. The vehicle was what you expect except personal items was in middle glove box. Pick up was okay where had reach out in Turo message app let him know you arrived and he unlock the vehicle. On a rainy night morning the light reflection from house made difficult to get clear pictures. Watch your step if vehicle parked in driveway no lighting on ground. Emergency can happen where you have to return vehicle early and time is against you.
Sorry for any misunderstanding. Since the 6:00 AM return deadline had passed by several hours without word, I contacted Turo support to see how to proceed. This was a first for me, but I was happy to approve your extension once we connected through support.
