“Granted the Tesla is a prepaid charge which comes from the owners card… not the renters card. I also took a road trip from Texas to Detroit”. Everything was great from pickup on up to when I finally came home. We were coming back from our road trip which took 1 day to get there and we spend 3 days and left on the 5th day. I just get to East Texas, 23 hours into my drive I stop to charge to get to Dallas. The Tesla says I can’t charge due to unpaid balance on owners card. I call him and text him multiple times for 8 hours to try to resolve so I can charge. No answer straight to voicemail. Now granted it was 4am which is understandable “I wouldn’t answer at 4am either UNLESS YOUR SPAMMING MY PHONE”. THE PHONE LIKE WENT STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL FOR ME AND TURO SUPPORT!!! Now we had had the vehicle for 5 days prior to this happening, why was there no call to resolve the balance on the card before… I don’t know. I continued to try to call him no answer, all I was going to do was have him charge me so the balance on his card would allow for a charge for the vehicle. No answer for 8 hours, Turo finally gets In contact with him, he then pays the balance on his card that was blocking be from charging and then says “there was an app issue not a card issue” when I get him on the line. Moral of the story, get a gas car or fly if you have a long road trip because this can and will happen.
The block was due to your undisclosed excessive use of the vehicle and the standard amount of charge required for standard use was exceeded. You said a short road trip, you did not pre-purchase the excessive use extra add on that is required if you are going further than 1 state away.
Turo will be helping manage this issue and the fact Marijuana was found in the vehicle leaves it very questionable why you would even take to public forum and give a negative review after we gave you a 5 star.
