The car itself was great—very clean, well-maintained, and drove smoothly throughout our trip. My only concerns were with the owner’s communication and level of involvement. We weren’t aware that vehicle pickup required meeting the owner in person rather than using a standard Turo-style pickup, which created some confusion when we were running late. During our trip, the owner contacted us after noticing our location and asked if we wanted to return the car early because he saw we were in Dallas. While I understand owners can monitor their vehicles, it felt a bit uncomfortable and overly intrusive. He also requested to see my ID again, which was unusual compared to my previous Turo experiences. At return, the gas tank was very slightly below where it needed to be, and it became a bigger issue than I expected. Overall, the vehicle was excellent, but the experience felt overly monitored, and I got the impression that problems were being looked for rather than assuming good intent. Because of that, I likely would not rent from this owner again.
