Each time we got into the car (and each entire trip), we were hit with an overwhelming aroma of marijuana (confirmed by police) even though the rental agreement clearly stated no smoking was allowed. The owner apologized for this, and stated she had just picked up the car from the previous renter. The car oil light stayed on throughout the trip, although the oil service sticker said it was ok. At one point the check engine light came on and I notified the owner. Her only questions were if the car was behaving poorly or making any noise. I told her we would check the oil, and we stopped by a mechanic shop to run the check engine test. He said the car would need a catalytic converter in the near future. The car tires were severely balding, making us nervous for all our highway travel. Also to note, there was a huge crack in the windshield. All that said, even with the inconveniences and our nervousness, the car got us through our vacation, and the AC worked well.
