The pickup location was convenient, and the host was friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Unfortunately, my experience with the vehicle itself was very disappointing, and I do not feel the condition of the car was accurately represented in the listing.
From the outside, the vehicle looked good. However, once I began my trip, several issues became apparent. About four hours into my drive, I attempted to use the radio and discovered that it was not working properly. I contacted the host, who responded quickly and advised me that the radio worked through AUX. Unfortunately, when I attempted to use the AUX connection, the audio system still did not function properly.
More concerning than the radio were the vehicle’s condition and safety-related issues. The vehicle did not have a front license plate, and the bolt securing the passenger-side seatbelt came loose during the trip. The interior also showed significant wear and tear that was not apparent from the listing.
While I appreciate the host’s responsiveness and had no issues with the pickup process, I would not recommend renting this vehicle in its current condition. When renting a vehicle especially for a long-distance trip. I expect it to be accurately advertised, properly maintained, and for basic safety equipment such as the seatbelts to be secure. Unfortunately, this vehicle did not meet those expectations, and the experience was extremely disappointing..
