I’m trying to be as fair as possible with this rating.

Did the car drive and do what we needed it to do? The answer is yes.

Now that I’ve established that, the car is pretty beat up. There are dents and scratches pretty much all over the car. I get that it’s a used vehicle and things happen, but also, that’s what insurance is for, to fix your car. The seats were ripped (so the host covered them with seat covers to hide). The back seat had what appeared to be a cigarette burn in it. The fabric in the back seat and trunk was torn in areas. The front two tires were pretty bald, they might have passed safety requirements (not sure though as I didn’t have a gauge, but it did put into question the safety of my family with this vehicle).

We booked the vehicle for the wrong location. Prior to check in, the host told us that we can change the location by calling Turo. This was nice of the host. It was our fault for booking the wrong location, so we were ok with the $20-25 change fee.

When we checked in, the host didn’t tell us where the car was till we asked. Then we messaged them, they told us. When we found the vehicle, we realized the keys were in the lock box. We reached out to the host for the code and they didn’t reply in a timely manner. So we ended up having to call Turo customer service to contact the host to get them to send us a message with the code.

The host also did not let us know how they would like the car dropped off either, so we called Turo customer service. They were unable to get ahold of the host so we just decided to leave it as we found it. We thought that was likely what they would have wanted. Then we messaged the host that we did so.

Will the car work? Yes

Did we use it as intended without any severe issue? Yes

Were we happy with the level of service from the host? No. They are in the business of renting their car for the convenience of the traveller. This is a critical step that they missed. Customer experience should always be the initial thought of the host and they should lead with that (in my opinion).

Would I recommend to a family member or friend planning to come to Laughlin for a trip? No. I would recommend finding a newer vehicle and be willing to pay a little more for a better experience overall. However, in a pinch it would do I suppose.

The car did amazing! Very comfortable ride! It's automatic, but I still note how cars shift and this car shifted smoothly making for a very nice ride. Thank you so much!
