The Best Turo Experience of My Life

Every once in a while, you meet someone who reminds you that exceptional people still exist.

This was one of those moments.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for Lifestyle Medicine, I spend much of the year traveling for work, caring for patients in their homes throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Because I travel so frequently, I’ve rented many vehicles over the years.

Without question, this was the finest Turo experience I’ve ever had.

After a previous rental that had been unexpectedly stressful, I was simply hoping for a smooth trip.

Instead, I experienced complete peace of mind.

From the moment I booked, my host was incredibly kind, flexible, patient, professional, accommodating, and responsive. Every message was answered quickly. Every question received a thoughtful response. Every detail was handled with care. At no point during the trip did I wonder what was happening or feel unsupported.

That level of communication is rare.

The vehicle itself was absolutely exceptional.

Immaculately clean.

Beautifully detailed.

Comfortable.

Safe.

Incredibly fun to drive.

It was obvious from the moment I picked it up that this wasn’t just another rental vehicle. It was a vehicle that someone genuinely takes pride in maintaining.

One of my favorite parts of the experience was Tesla Full Self-Driving (used responsibly and with my full attention on the road, exactly as intended). Combined with Chill Mode, it made long drives feel smoother, calmer, and significantly less stressful while still keeping me fully engaged as the driver.

As someone who spends countless hours on the road, that made a tremendous difference.

What impressed me even more than the vehicle, however, was the person behind it.

During our conversations, I learned that my host serves as a Lifestyle Medicine Physician Associate in the United States Navy.

As someone whose own career is dedicated to helping people prevent disease and live healthier lives, I deeply appreciated learning that we share a passion for improving the lives of others.

His professionalism wasn’t something he turned on because he was hosting.

It simply reflected who he is.

Integrity.

Humility.

Kindness.

Service.

Attention to detail.

Respect.

Those qualities showed up in every interaction we had.

In healthcare we often say that reducing someone’s stress is healing in itself.

That’s exactly what this experience did.

Instead of worrying about transportation, I was free to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, focus on my work, recharge mentally, and simply enjoy the journey.

That gift is worth far more than a rental car.

It is peace of mind.

We had an excellent experience! This was our first time using Turo. It was intimidating using someone else's (small business) car rather than a large corporation. Also we were trying out an EV. I was nervous but Kitsap Car Rentals was very assuring. He definitely calmed my fears and it turned out being the best experience! I would definitely recommend going through Turo especially Kitsap Car rentals.
