I decided to rent a vehicle through Turo again because my experience in San Diego was excellent—easy process, great car, helpful host, and seamless pickup and drop-off. Since I was traveling to Boston, I chose the same route rather than my usual Hertz rental. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a big mistake.

It took me approximately 40 minutes just to locate the car. When I called the host, DJ, for help, instead of offering support, he was sarcastic, passive-aggressive, and overall unhelpful. I ultimately had to ask airport security and a parking booth attendant to assist me in finding the vehicle. Throughout this, the repeated response from both the host and the owner was, “this has never happened before,” which did nothing to resolve the situation.

In addition, I received multiple unnecessary calls and text messages from the host and possibly the owner outside the Turo app, which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. I eventually had to block them. Still, they continued blowing my phone up via the Turo app with the same drop-off request, and information until I had to ask them to stop.

To add to the frustration, the owner messaged me saying, “If you need any assistance when dropping off, please let me know so you have a smooth return.” When I asked if I could meet him at the airport to hand off the keys, his response was simply, “I’m not available.” That felt like an attempt to appear helpful without actually offering any support.

The EV aspect made the experience even more difficult. Charging stations in the area were hard to find, and most of them were located inside public parking garages, an important detail the host failed to mention when I asked about EV charging accessibility before confirming the rental. I ended up paying $25–$30 per hour just to access chargers, and several of them weren’t working. The ones that did work charged the car extremely slowly. If you’re renting in Boston, I would strongly recommend choosing a gas or hybrid vehicle instead.

Overall, this rental was stressful, confusing, and disappointing. I would not rent from this host again.

Ironically, you were on the same flight as another guest we picked up, there 10 mins, not 40 (you said an hour at first). You called us multiple times, we didn't call you, we tried to assist you, you didn't follow the instructions and got lost. You hung up on us continually . We sent Turo the Screen Shots of the calls & text, we were just trying to help you. Logan does not allow Host/Guest to park in the EV station, the fines are $250 - $500+. You also lied about condition just to spiteful.
