The host communicated extremely well and the vehicle was a reliable and comfortable drive. It did have an electrical issue which the host made me aware of before picking up the vehicle. However the electrical issue is not why I’m giving this a 1 star review. While I was driving I got a notification on my iPhone about a smart tag moving with me. I played the sound and did find the smart tag. After calling TURO, having the police come remove the tag to shut it off and return the vehicle per TURO. Smart tags and AirTags are not allowed per TURO policy and it is a misdemeanor in the state of Michigan punishable with a $1000 and or 1 year in jail. It violates the privacy of the person renting the vehicle. Even with companies like enterprise can’t track the location of vehicles until it has been reported as stolen.
I work really hard to be a good host. I only use smart tags to retrieve vehicles that are not returned. I am not interested where customers go and what they're doing.
