Communication with the host was excellent, and pickup and return were straightforward.
Unfortunately, the vehicle itself was disappointing. I knew I was renting a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and had reasonable expectations for an older vehicle. In fact, I own a 2015 Grand Cherokee myself, so I’m familiar with how well these vehicles can hold up when properly maintained.
This vehicle had over 150,000 miles and showed considerable wear, including a badly deteriorated center armrest. More concerning, the steering wheel vibrated noticeably above 50 mph. All of the windows, including the windshield and rear glass, were so dirty that I had to clean them myself to ensure adequate visibility. The windshield washer reservoir was also empty.
I appreciated the host’s communication and the convenience of the rental, but basic cleanliness and maintenance should be expected regardless of a vehicle’s age or mileage.
