The same day I picked up the vehicle, I was pulled over by police for the expired tags. Although he was not driving, the traffic stop ultimately led to my husband’s arrest. The officer told me that the tags had been expired for over a year, although the host claimed they just expired at the end of August. The negligence of both the host and Turo has quite literally turned my life upside down. And in this current state, to be put in the position to be pulled over is extremely frustrating. Words cannot express my anger over the entire situation. The host resolved the registration the same night and apologized many times, but REAL damage was done and there aren’t enough sorrys to change that, unfortunately. The car was fairly clean but hesitated to start twice, also smelled faintly of smoke and fragrance cover up, but it wasn’t too bad. The host was kind, but again, the negligence is just unacceptable. Although Turo swapped me out and made up the cost I am very hesitant to use the platform again.
