The brake pads were extremely worn and made a loud grinding noise every time the brakes were used. The host was aware of this issue prior to my trip but failed to disclose it.
While he was apologetic after the fact, this created a serious safety concern for me and my family, as well as unnecessary stress. By the time he responded, it was too late to secure another available vehicle.
Communication was also delayed. He initially said he would find a replacement car, but didn’t follow up until the next morning, at which point he informed me he had nothing available. He mentioned he would work with Turo to assist, but that did not happen, and I was left to figure things out on my own.
The most concerning part is that he allowed us to take the vehicle knowing there were brake issues and did not disclose them upfront. While I understand things can happen, the situation was handled poorly and without a sense of urgency.
Thanks, Lauren. I made an error in judgment here for sure, I should have pulled this car out for repairs. We've refunded your trip, and I'm sorry this impacted your vacation time.
The rear brake pads & rotors on this Q3 have now been replaced.
