This was the worst rental car and host experience I have ever encountered.
The car does not match the description. It has significant damage on the passenger side doors, cleverly camouflaged to hide the extent of the damage, but the mismatched paint makes it highly noticeable. There are visible paint drips in several areas. All four rims are damaged. When I contacted the host to confirm their awareness of the damage, they blamed the previous Turo guest.
The vehicle is mechanically unreliable. It does not drive smoothly like a Porsche should. After driving only 36 miles, it used a quarter tank of gas, this is far from fuel efficient. During the trip, the tire pressure warning light came on. We had the car from 9:06 PM to 10:02 PM before it broke down, requiring roadside assistance.
Communication among the co-hosts is unprofessional and inconsistent. One co-host was confrontational, calling and confronting me when her car broke down. Not once did she ask about my safety or that of my children when she found out we were stranded on a busy highway less than an hour after renting her vehicle.
To make matters worse, we were billed for missing gas and an inconvenience fee for a 54-minute rental that turned into a nightmare. I strongly advise against renting from these hosts or using their inventory. Don’t be fooled by the five-star reviews.
