I believe the seller has the responsibility to be as forthcoming and anticipate the perceptions of the driver. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the host to prepare drivers for the absolute reality of the vehicle. There was lots of excuses made and no accountability about the condition of the car, the car being smaller than a Buick, not a regular suv, and the cleanliness of the car were not up to par. The last day of my best friends wedding I went to start the car and it would not start. The night before I noticed when I pressed lock on the key fob there was no response, but I couldn’t do anything about it because I assumed the battery in the key fob was dying but I believe that is actually when the car died. A absolute nightmare people were depending on
Me as one of the transports for the wedding party and I could not accommodate. This vehicle is tiny think Elantra not a larger spacious hatchback. I am 59 my head touched the roof it was so cramped the trunk was too small for everyone’s luggage. The host was dismissive in my opinion and it almost ruined many aspects of the wedding trip but we persevered regardless. Having to be on the phone with customer support instead of in the moment and helping out in real time was a setback and upset the flow of the first day of the trip. The car dying and having to uber $50 to the airport was anxiety inducing and I’m sure I won’t be trusted with the task to get the car again for our trips. I’m so disappointed. So so disappointed and I paid up front.
As discussed during the trip, Turo automatically assigns vehicle categories based on the VIN, and hosts have no control over those labels. The vehicle’s size and features were accurately represented in the listing. It was professionally cleaned less than 24 hours before the trip, and Turo did not support the cleanliness concerns raised. While we apologize for the unexpected no-start issue, diagnostics later confirmed the starter was damaged from repeated start attempts.
