Recently rented the 2026 Jeep Wrangler for a few hours. I was traveling from Texas to Atlanta for a graduation. The host and/or bot was quick at responding to my questions and needs. They were super friendly and making the booking process easy. However, when arriving to the parking lot - I was given the incorrect park lot number that the vehicle was parked. The shuttle driver was so kind to help me search for the SUV. After 5-10 mins had passed I was able to finally locate the vehicle and proceed to inspect and take photos of the exterior. Once that was completed, I open the driver side door to start the process of taking the interior photos. When I opened the door, I was hit with what smelled like “weed.” Continued to take photos and noticed that the cargo area had dry grass and dirt. Walked over to the passenger side and saw what appeared to be some sort of brown stains on the side of the middle console and on the passenger seat. I notified the host and they apologized for the issues I had brought up.
While driving the vehicle, the odor inside the SUV was causing me headaches. I rolled down the window but it did not help. Shortly after arriving to the graduation the host messaged me and asked “How I was enjoying the vehicle?” I advised the host that it was a bit difficult to drive the vehicle because the odor was causing me a headache. They again apologized.
Now this part I understand I was asking something out of policy. But I was hoping for some understanding - I asked the host if I could rent the vehicle for another hour or two. They stated that they would have to charge me an extra trip. Which I understand but at the same time the host did nothing to compensate for the lost time I spent looking for the vehicle and the unbearable odor.
Overall, not bad but also not my favorite experience with Turo.
