Car kinda jerks but it’s a great car.
This is how VW Taos engines are made.
2022-2024 models are equipped with the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, is known for jerky, hesitant, and unrefined low-speed shifting. Complaints include bucking in stop-and-go traffic and hesitation during acceleration, leading VW to switch all 2025 models to a smoother 8-speed automatic.

The car is really nice. Engine light came on while on my trip, but car gave me no problems. Great on gas. Host was super quick to respond to messages. Host gave clear pickup and drop off instructions. I would definitely rent again.
