Unfortunately my first experience with turo was not a great one. I’m usually a pretty positive person and loved to write great reviews but that was not the experience I had. I was supposed to pick up the van at 9am and the host was an hour late to drop off the van so I standing in a random airport parking lot with my whole family just waiting. Communication was ok I guess. I had to ask for an eta multiple times. I would have appreciated them being more proactive with the communication that the van was going to be late and more than just a couple minutes. I just feel I shouldn’t have to hunt them down for proper communication. We finally get in the van to find out the check engine light is on… great! Except we are already late to where we need to get to with the van not being on time so we have no other option but to just take it. We quickly realized the van did not drive well at all! The transmission hesitates to go over 20mph. When you make a sharp turn at low speeds it sounds horrible like the whole axle is about to fall on the ground. We didn’t have time to deal with these issues as we had a very packed schedule. Thankfully the van did not break down on us. The cohost told me I could drop the van off at the parking lot closest to my terminal when leaving to make up for my inconvenience when arriving. I finally find a space in the closest lot to find out the turo app won’t let me leave it there so now I have to fight airport traffic to go to the other lot 3 miles away and find another spot. Annoying because the co host told me I could drop at the closer lot. Thank goodness I didn’t miss my flight because we almost did.
