The host was nice and reply quickly. But they gave me the wrong code for the lockbox and many issues with the vehicle.
To clarify, the lockbox code provided was correct, and detailed airport pickup instructions were sent in advance. It appears there may have been a misunderstanding in following those instructions.
Additionally, throughout the trip, I proactively checked in multiple times to ensure everything was going well, and no issues were reported. It is unclear what specific “vehicle issues” are being referred to here.
The vehicle was returned in messy condition plus a flat tire.

Great love you for the price, it has normal wear for its age,but I didn’t experience any oil leak as mentioned in other reviews.its just like a typical Japanese car!smooth overall!
Host responded quick and helpful.very good option for the price!

Alfira was a great host overall. Communication was clear and timely, and pickup and drop-off were straightforward. The car was as described and ran well. There were just a couple small maintenance items that may need attention at some point, but nothing that affected my trip. Overall, a smooth experience and I’d consider renting from Alfira again.

Car was leaking oil and was in rough shape not indicated in the advertisement
If photo attachments were available in reviews, that would definitely help clarify the concern.
We’re honestly unsure where the “leaking oil” mentioned is coming from. The vehicle has passed multiple inspections, and we have detailed inspection and diagnostic reports confirming that the car has no mechanical issues. We take maintenance very seriously and ensure the vehicle is checked regularly.

I would not recommend booking this vehicle. While the car was clean and didn’t have any obvious exterior damage, it was clear something was wrong as soon as I started driving. The alignment was extremely bad and constantly pulled to the left, making the ride bumpy, loud, and accompanied by a grinding noise that passengers could hear and feel. The tires were also dangerously worn and nearly bald. Anyone with basic car knowledge knows that bad alignment combined with bald tires is a serious safety hazard and a blowout waiting to happen.
That wasn’t the end of the issues. Overnight while the car was parked at our Airbnb, there was a significant oil leak that stained the driveway, which I may now be charged for by Airbnb. At that point, I no longer felt safe driving the car or confident it would make the 40-mile drive back to the airport.
I booked this car back in September, before seeing two recent reviews from December and earlier this month reporting the same oil leak issue. After messaging back and forth, the host claimed the problem had been fixed immediately after those prior reports and that their mechanic found no leak. Eventually, the host advised me to contact Turo to have the car towed. I ended the reservation early and had it towed back.
On top of all of this, my friend received an iPhone notification detecting an AirTag nearby around 4 a.m. Initially, she thought it belonged to someone in the house. However, when the tow truck arrived, the notification appeared again, and we realized it was likely coming from the car (prior renter also reported this on the review as well). We attempted to ping it, but the car was already loaded onto the truck. Once the tow truck left with the vehicle, the AirTag notification disappeared, confirming it was no longer in range. There was no prior notice that the vehicle was being tracked, which is against Turo’s policy.
Had I known all of this, I absolutely would not have booked this car. Lesson learned: always check the most recent reviews right before your trip. I didn’t, and I regret it.
