Overall the van was “okay”

But the experience for this trip deserves ONE star.

We originally reserved a 2018 dodge grand caravan. Less than 24 hours before our reservation started the host informed us that our trip was canceled.

After reaching out to the host, they told us: “unfortunately we’re having an issue with a previous guest who has not returned the vehicle on time. I apologize for the inconvenience, this is out of our control”

That left us scrambling last minute to find another vehicle for our large family that would be onsite at the airport. And I mean stress level 10/10.

After multiple phone calls to Turo, it was very evident that Turo’s cancellation policy is meant to take care of the company, not the customer.
The original host was able to find us a replacement van: 2012 Toyota sienna. Turo refunded the difference, a whopping $10.49, for a vehicle 6 years older with 184 thousand miles.

Now for the van itself:
The van was in any condition you would expect a 14 year old vehicle to be. Dings dents and scratches.

The interior was clean, but will note the host does keep air fresheners thru out the vehicle, while this is not a complaint, may be nice to know for anyone sensitive to strong scents.

The van does come with Bluetooth, but it was a pain to connect. Thanks to YouTube it is possible.

There was clearly something wrong with the steering, this was noted to the host and they assured us the vehicle was just inspected and totallyy safe.
The brakes were horrible, and on New England roads, it did not feel safe.

My brother and my dad are both long time mechanics, and advised that this vehicle should not be available for rent.

Will not be booking with Turo in the future.

I felt this was a good value - the van showed its age a little bit, but got us safely to and from NH

Comfortable drive. Not a concerning issue.
The left passenger door would slide open but not close automatically, it would only close manually.
