Love the car nice ride will Turo again

The car was not clean when I arrived to pick it up. I had to clean it myself, and buy air fresheners to get rid of the dog smell that was very strong in the vehicle. There was stuff dried into the carpet, hair, dirt, and a drink spilled in the cup holder that I had to clean up myself. This alone was very disappointing and set my trip back a few hours. I informed the host and he apologized and informed me that the person who cleans his car did not clean it. He offered to give me a discount towards a future rental but I did inform him that I did not plan to rent from him in the future so that wasn’t helpful. He also offered to reimburse me if I was to bring it somewhere to be cleaned, which I did not have time to do. I had a long road trip ahead of me, on top of the fact that I’d cleaned it already - which I had already informed him of when I reached out to tell him about the condition of the car. It was a spacious vehicle and was able to accommodate myself and my family - aside from the lack of cleanliness at pickup it was good to ride in. However, being setback on my trip time and being out in the hot sun cleaning a vehicle that I paid over 400 to rent should have never happened. I don’t know why the car wasn’t cleaned, after reading so many great reviews about the cleanliness of the van, but I’ll take him at his word when he said his cleaner did not do his job. He should probably check behind the cleaner going forward so no one else will have to deal with that, if that was the case. For anyone looking to book this van, just beware, but it’s not like you can cancel on arrival and find that it’s not clean, if you don’t have a backup or don’t opt for the refundable option when you book. I just think more could have been done to further accommodate me for having to accept this vehicle, after paying more for extra insurance coverage and unlimited mileage.
