This rental turned into a complete nightmare for me and my pregnant wife. We were given a vehicle that developed a serious mechanical issue during the trip and became undriveable, which left us stranded for hours waiting for Turo roadside assistance. We ended up stuck for about 6 hours, had to book a hotel, and deal with an incredibly stressful situation that should never have happened.
What made it worse was the host’s response. Instead of showing concern or trying to help, the host immediately began blaming us for the vehicle failure. After everything we went through, he continued trying to pressure us for payment and submitted misleading photo evidence to support claims we dispute. Thankfully, I had my own documentation and submitted it to Turo.
Based on my experience, this host did not handle the situation honestly or responsibly. Renters should be very cautious.
This guest violated MULTIPLE Turo policies and tried to defraud us and Turo to get a one-way free ride from SF Bay to LA. He took the car HUNDREDS OF MILES in just a few hours, tampered with it and abandoned it in the middle of nowhere. The car has absolutely NO issues (proved by documented evidence) and has 5-star reviews from all other guests. This guest was reported to Turo because he severely violated multiple Turo policies, and he should NEVER be a part of the car-sharing community.
