I rented this vehicle for several weeks while my own car was in the shop, and this was by far one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment I picked up the vehicle, the A/C barely worked, the steering had unusual movement, the radio didn’t work, and the tires were in terrible condition. Looking back at the photos, I realized just how unsafe those tires actually were.
Just a few hours after pickup, the host asked me to switch to another vehicle that looked exactly the same, without properly documenting or processing the vehicle change through Turo. I never expected that this would later create problems.
After two weeks, I had a flat tire. The vehicle did not have a spare tire, which the host told me. Then later on the Turo app, he tried to act as if the vehicle had one. I was stranded and had no choice but to spend $400 out of pocket to replace the tire.
Now the host is trying to charge me $120 for a supposedly missing floor mat. He is using the same photos for both vehicles, even though they are two different cars, and is now trying to mix the first vehicle with the second vehicle to support his claim. The photos do not match the vehicle I rented, making this claim completely unreasonable.
When I called the host for help, he was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.
To make matters worse, he is also claiming that I returned the vehicle dirty and damaged, which is simply false.
Be very careful before renting from this host. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend choosing a different host.
