We had a horrible experience with our host. As a longtime Turo customer, the host almost always responded immediately to our questions, before or after the rental began. We weren’t sure whether we had a car or not for our trip because the host did not confirm. We emailed, messaged, and called. No response for hours, and we had started the communication the day before. We finally got a response from the host, late afternoon the next day, when we were at the airport, and were ready to board. Recommended that we were to contact Turo, the main company. We spent hours on the phone with Turo, we had one representative after another (five to six reps in total), lots of times cut off in the middle of our conversation. Finally, it came down to them telling me it was all up the host from the get-go. The car was finally verified while we were on the runway, only seconds from us flying, not knowing whether we had a car just moments before. The only time a plane delay worked to our advantage. Funny, the host answered relatively quickly when they had a problem. They had to correspond with us a couple of times when they needed help from us to resolve their car issue. I guess they didn’t check the car thoroughly before renting to us. Company signed as two hosts and neither communicated with us when we needed them to.
I’m sorry the start felt stressful. Your review leaves out important details. The delay was due to Turo’s required license verification; the uploaded document appeared to be a photocopied license, which we could not accept or override. Turo initially advised cancellation, but we worked in good faith so the trip could proceed once cleared. We also received a notification that a required vehicle device was tempered with. As you can see from our past reviews reflect the care and service we provide.

Hosts were very communicative from start to finish and very personable. Van was clean when received. It got us safely to our destination and back home! Thanks so much - I’ll be in contact for our next road trip :)
