Do not rent!!! Host sent me a very long message, the night before pick up, concerning the maintenance that needed done to the car. I went ahead and picked up anyway. I definitely should have canceled. Breaks squealed extremely loud, air conditioner was very noisy and would stop working on and off. Communication lacked during pick up, I stood outside with my children for 30 minutes calling trying to get th code to lockbox. Finally got in, car wasn’t exactly clean but also not terrible at first glance. Long story short, once we were too far into our trip to return early, we realized the maintenance issue was way worse than what the host initially disclosed. We backtracked , had a safety check done. They found a bunch of stuff but we sucked it up because we had 6 kids and had already driven 300 miles at that point. That same night our 3 year old opened the side pocket next to her , only to find ILLIGAL DRUGS in a compartment full of trash. After finding this we decided to do a full clean of the van, in which we found garbage under every single seat. I reached out to the host and barely got an apology. It was a “I’m sorry, I’m not sure how we missed that”. Then not another word of concern after that.
Now I have been invoiced for going over mileage. All of which would not have happened it I had not back tracked to to have a safety inspection done due to the van being in unsafe operating conditions.

Great experience with host, who was super responsive and accommodating when I needed a minivan for a large family visit. The child seat I initially booked turned out to be too small and the host very quickly helped swap out for a larger seat and ensure the rest of the trip went off without any issues. Check in and return were all easy and straightforward. Highly recommend and would rent again.
