The host was very prompt with responding, and was able to accommodate an 8 hour early change in check-out with no issues. The host also provided a car wash free of charge!

We unfortunately didn’t love this Turo experience. When I chose pick up at Sky Harbor I didn’t know until after booking it would be located at an offsite lot necessitating the need for a shuttle ride.

My husband and I arrived at 11pm with two little kids and 4 pieces of luggage plus a double stroller. We decided it would be easier to send me to get the Turo and come back to get them. That process took about 30 mins. There are several parking spot shuttles so make sure to get the correct one. The lot where it’s located is dark and confusing with little signage.

The van itself was clean with minimal signs of wear. It had a chemical smell from the bottles of cleaner left by the host for the renter to use. We requested 2 car seats, one of which was brand new so we had to figure out what to do with all the loose padding pieces and booklet.

The van is a hybrid but had zero battery charge so we drove on gas as we had nowhere to charge it. It seemed to be pretty fuel efficient. We were disappointed that it did not have remote start to be able to pre-cool it in the AZ heat. The van also made strange noises relating to it being hybrid. He left a tether device inside to be able to plug in a phone for maps which is thoughtful. A sunshade would be a nice addition to help keep heat out.

Before returning it, he asked for it to be brought to a Cobblestone car wash for a quick (included) detail. It was inconvenient to do this but we did it. It took about 20 minutes and cost a small tip for the guy.

We were running a little late to the airport and decided to drop the van off together and all take the shuttle to the airport. It took a while to find the correct section to park due to lack of signage and darkness but we did locate it. The shuttle driver was kind and helped us with all our luggage even offering assistance all the way to the airline check in desk. The shuttle ride felt a bit unsafe for little kids but we survived.

All in all it was an okay experience. I deducted a star for the inconvenience of the offsite pick up and the cleaning especially with having kids in tow. I do however really appreciate that the parking and detail were included so no surprise fees but I wish the process would have been more clear before booking.

I informed the host that we were arriving in the middle of the night, I was not provided adequate instructions to get on the shuttle timely, nor was I provided a license plate number or stall number of where the car was parked to inform the shuttle driver where to go. I reached out on the app and through the phone number provided, but I did not receive a response. I located the car by driving aimlessly through the lot with the good hearted shuttle driver. The car itself was in great shape.
