Pickup and return of the vehicle was easy and Barry’s instructions were accurate.
Overall, the car was in good condition, but I was surprised to find that for it being a 2021, it had significant damage to the interior and exterior cosmetically and wasn’t all that clean. For example, the recline adjuster on one of the command seats in the second row was broken off and my passenger sat upright for the entirety of our trip. As soon as I acquired the car, I wished that I had just spent the extra money to rent a different van on Turo for it to be cleaner and newer.
I had two issues with the car during the trip, which is why I’m giving a negative review.
1. The AC did blow cold air, but definitely not as cold as you’d expect it to and the car was not retaining it at all. The car was not cooled down until we got two hours north where the weather outside was cooler. This was not a huge issue for our trip and I wasn’t really upset about it as the AC probably just needs to be recharged. If I was staying local in Tempe, this would’ve been an issue with how hot it was.
2. I didn’t notice at first that the front passenger side tire was completely bald, but it became very apparent when I was on the interstate and the car kept shaking when I went above 70mph. I thought maybe it was the road, but when I pulled over for gas, I realized the tire was bald and the alignment was likely off. This is a huge safety concern and I would’ve never taken the car if I had realized it. I messaged Barry about it and offered to call roadside service or take it to a shop to get fixed or to drive it back so he could fix it, which is what he preferred.
When I checked the photos from either Barry or one of the co-hosts, the bald tire was visible during their inspection so who knows how long it has been that way.
