The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and the host was accommodating — he arranged early pickup at TPA and had car seats installed for our kids. I would have given five stars based on the first two days.
On the evening of day two, we discovered a cockroach infestation in the vehicle. Multiple roaches of different sizes in the console, cup holders, floor mats, and dashboard. I have video documentation. This is apparently a known issue with vehicles parked in Florida, and I don't believe the host was aware of it beforehand.
I returned the vehicle several days early and the host initially offered options to resolve it. Ultimately no refund was provided. I encouraged the host to have the vehicle professionally fumigated and confirm that to future guests. I'd also encourage future renters to inspect the vehicle carefully at night before committing, as cockroaches are nocturnal and won't be visible during a daytime or well-lit pickup.
As I previously mentioned, after you returned the Van,I performed three separate inspections (at the airport,at night,and the following morning)and found no evidence of any insects or activity.To be absolutely certain,I also had the car professionally inspected, and the specialist confirmed that the Van is completely clear and meets all sanitization standards.I have already submitted all my evidence, including the post-trip photos and the results of the professional inspection, to Turo Support.
