Unfortunately this vehicle was well below expectations. The vehicle had significant wear and tear. It had 185k miles and was due for an oil change in the middle of our trip. The alternator went out and we were left stranded in the rain for 4 hours the day before our flight home. We had to take a $150 Lyft and leave the car seat at the airport baggage claim. The host was understanding and apologetic, but there was little Turo could do. We would not use this service again.
We’re truly sorry for the experience. The vehicle was inspected prior to the trip, and the alternator failure was unexpected. As soon as we were informed, we offered assistance and guidance through Turo roadside support. We always aim to resolve issues quickly and keep our guests moving. Your feedback is noted, and we’re addressing this to prevent future occurrences.

The cleanliness of the van was not in question. The mechanical condition of the van was lower than substandard. The dash picture showed either a different van then what was represented on the website or the radio was replaced. Either way you could not read any of the markings to use the device. The knob is missing on top of the shifter. The door behind driver side was completely inoperative and would not open with either power or manually. The second seat on the passenger side was loose in frame work and would rock or move around when van was in motion. The passenger rear quarter panel of the van was damaged in some sort of accident and yet picture on website did not show this. Lastly, there was an issue with a vehicle not starting after sitting and not being run for nine days. When I went to open the hood, I could not find the latch until crawling under dash to find it was broken off from dash and tucked up under the dashboard. Overall, I don’t believe this vehicle should have been on the road. If the owner wanted to transport his family in it fine, but not my family as I found it UNSAFE.

Car got you to the points you need to be but a little rough around the edges. I walked outside to get the keys to the van and the bumper was halfway hanging off. I didn’t like that that wasn’t disclosed before.
