My family and I flew in from Seattle, Washington, for a family reunion, and this Honda Odyssey ended up being a great vehicle for our trip. The van was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for transporting multiple adults and children around Charleston and beyond.

One thing I noticed immediately was a wet dog smell inside the vehicle. Thankfully, that was easily fixed with a car air freshener, so it wasn't a major issue for us. What impressed me the most was the gas mileage. From the time we picked up the van, we didn't have to stop for gas until Day 4 of our rental, which was amazing considering how much driving we did.

I also ended up extending the rental, and that process was very easy and hassle-free but again no communication from the host.

My biggest complaint is the communication from the host. Before pickup, I sent a message thanking him for allowing us to rent the vehicle because I was genuinely excited about our trip. Unfortunately, I never received a response. Hours later, I simply received the pickup code and location information. During the rental, I had a few minor questions and concerns and tried reaching out through the app and even called the phone number listed on the profile. I never received a response and was left to figure everything out on my own.

I completely understand that business is business, but communication is a huge part of customer service. Even a quick response would have made a significant difference in the overall experience.

The van also had several pre-existing damages, which I made sure to thoroughly document before leaving the lot so there would be no confusion about responsibility later. I highly recommend future renters do the same.

As for the vehicle itself, it was a great means of transportation for a family. In fact, after driving it for several days, I'm seriously considering purchasing a Honda Odyssey when I return home. While the van is a bit outdated with the built-in DVD players, it actually brought back some nostalgia. Providing a few DVDs for families to use would have been a nice touch and would have elevated the customer experience to another level.

Overall, despite the communication issues, the vehicle was reliable, fuel-efficient, comfortable, and served our family extremely well throughout our trip. If communication were improved, this would easily be a 5-star experience.
