The only positive part of this rental was that the pickup instructions were clear and the car was relatively easy to find.
Unfortunately, the vehicle itself was in very poor condition. The car was dirty when I picked it up, the brakes did not seem to work properly, the engine kept overheating, and I frequently had to slow down because of it. I did not feel comfortable driving over 60 mph, and the air conditioning was not working properly either.
To make matters worse, I accidentally got locked out of the car when the door closed with the keys inside. I was left stranded in the heat without access to my phone, wallet, or belongings and had to pay out of pocket to regain access to the vehicle. There was no warning in the listing that the car could lock itself with the keys inside.
I rented an inexpensive car, so I was not expecting anything luxurious. However, regardless of the price point, I do expect a vehicle to safely and reliably get me from point A to point B. Unfortunately, this car did not meet that basic expectation.
Overall, the vehicle felt unsafe to drive, and the experience was stressful. I would not rent this car again.

The vehicle was fully functional throughout the guest’s trip with no mechanical issues. Before the trip, I washed the vehicle but accidentally left some trash in a side pocket. I acknowledged the mistake and offered a $20 refund.
I declined the guest’s request for reimbursement of a $98 locksmith charge because the key was left inside the vehicle due to the guest’s actions, not a vehicle issue. I believe my decision to deny that reimbursement may have led to this complaint.
