The rear seats didn’t latch so we couldn’t use them. We had to rent a second rental car last minute to fit our whole family. I messaged the owner and they never acknowledged the issue or helped fix it. Very frustrating

The quality of the van was very poor and not as reflected in the description and photos on Turo. First, it had a very strong mildew smell that we could not improve even after buying air fresheners, Lysol and febreeze. Second, the third row seats were so rusted that you could not fold them down to put luggage in the back, the upholstery was stained and threadbare, and several of the latches and hooks in the interior were rusted. Further, there was a large dent on the back of the trunk door and the trunk door did not close or open automatically with a button - you had to manually shut it. In addition, the car was advertised to have Apple CarPlay but it did not so it made navigating and playing music a big pain. We brought all these concerns to Alii (the host) immediately and they did respond promptly, although they were unable to provide us with a replacement vehicle. They did provide us a partial ($230) refund which we appreciate. We were visiting Kauai for a milestone celebration and the rental car was the first thing we booked many many months in advance, as we knew it was high season and cars can be hard to come by. So, it was very disappointing to end up with such a clunker.
