This was my third time using Turo in Lihue and I had previously always had my pickup at the lot by Target. While the listing is on Rice St, and it was ultimately on me for not noticing that when booking, the host did indicate that a Turo shuttle should pick up at the airport. Per my experience, this is false; we arrived at 10pm and waited for the Turo shuttle who said they would not drive down to the Rice Street drop off “because it is dark and there is a dirt road.” It’s a $25 uber to get there from LIH and that’s if you get one late at night. The lot also does not have a return shuttle; I had to do a 45 minute hike back to the airport after dropping off the car. I love the hikes in Kauai, but it’s a little uncomfortable doing air traveling after a humid rainy 2 mile walk. Protip: use the Marriott shuttle (if you can, didn’t try personally) and cut your walk down to 10 mins. It’s still dark and you need to cross the street, so leave the family at the airport and pick them up after. Other than that, the host was responsive and the vehicle was reliable and served our needs across the island. It was also the most affordable by far. I’d still rebook, but be warned about the trek to/from the airport.

This is something we do every day as a living and your pro tips are actually illegal. You cannot use it the Marriott shuttle without being a guest there. Also, like you said you booked it at my lot not at the airport so you can’t use the shuttle unless you have the booking at the airport. One experience does not define how we have everything set up. I’m sorry your experience wasn’t exactly what you wanted, but like you said it was what you booked. Mahalo for your business.
