El peor alquiler que he tenido. La entrega está armada para que uno no note nada: el check-in es en un parqueadero oscuro y al carro le rociaron ambientador justo antes. Ahí uno completa el check-in sin sospechar nada. Al salir a la luz del día — cuando el check-in ya no se puede deshacer — empiezan a verse todos los defectos: interior sucio con migas y residuos, vidrios con manos pegajosas, carro deteriorado y viejo que no corresponde al precio. Y un par de días después viene lo peor: el ambientador se disipa y aparece el olor real que estaban tapando — orina de gato, confirmado por el personal de un car wash. Reporté todo con fotos desde el día 1 por el chat de Turo. El anfitrión pasó días sin responder, y cuando respondía eran disculpas, culpar a su equipo y ofrecer el reembolso de un car wash — nunca negó el estado del carro ni el olor. Su otra “solución” era devolver el carro a mitad del viaje, cuando según el cálculo que me dio Turo ese día la devolución habría sido de apenas $183. Con mi familia y dos niños pequeños en pleno viaje de 17 días, quedarme sin carro y sin plata no era una opción — seguir usándolo fue falta de alternativa, no conformidad. Nunca ofrecieron limpiar el vehículo ni una solución real. Enmascarar un olor a orina con ambientador para lograr el check-in no es un descuido: es un engaño deliberado al huésped. No alquilen este carro.
The worst rental I’ve ever had. The handoff is set up so you notice nothing: check-in happens in a dark parking garage, and the car had just been sprayed with air freshener. That’s when you complete check-in, suspecting nothing. Once you drive out into daylight — after check-in can no longer be undone — all the defects appear: dirty interior with crumbs and debris, sticky handprints on the windows, a worn, aged car that doesn’t match the price. A couple of days later comes the worst part: the air freshener wears off and the real smell they were masking takes over — cat urine, confirmed by the staff at a car wash. I reported everything with photos from day 1 through the Turo chat. The host went days without replying, and when he did it was apologies, blaming his team, and offering to reimburse one car wash — he never denied the car’s condition or the smell. His other “solution” was returning the car mid-trip, when per the refund estimate Turo gave me that day I would have gotten back only $183. With my family and two small kids in the middle of a 17-day trip, being left with no car and no money was not an option — continuing to use it was lack of alternatives, not acceptance. They never offered to actually clean the vehicle or provide a real solution. Masking a urine smell with air freshener to get you through check-in is not carelessness — it’s deliberately deceiving the guest. Do not rent this car.
