The car itself was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The pickup area was also spotless and well-kept. Unfortunately, the experience was affected by two major issues. First, the car made strange noises under the hood throughout the trip. Second, and most importantly, the vehicle’s tags were expired, and I was not told this before renting.
The host explained they paid the registration online, but without a temporary tag displayed, I felt unsafe driving and worried about being pulled over. This should have been communicated upfront.
We still returned the car washed and with a full tank, as required.

Thank you for your review. To clarify, the vehicle’s registration was renewed and current; I can’t control when the DMV mails the new sticker. The sound you mentioned comes from behind the stereo and has been confirmed by the dealership as normal for this model. It doesn’t affect safety or performance. You drove 238 miles without mechanical issues. I would never rent a vehicle that wasn’t properly maintained, insured, and registered
