The van itself was good and ultimately served its purpose, but the airport pickup experience was poor. The trip was scheduled to begin at the airport at 11:00 AM, but the vehicle was not available at the scheduled start time or within the allotted 30-minute window. We also were not given clear pickup instructions or advanced notice that the vehicle was going to be late. If the host would’ve been upfront about being late, it would’ve saved my family a lot of headache on the first day.
This was especially frustrating because we were traveling with luggage, young kids, and my mother in a wheelchair. The delay and lack of clear communication caused us to miss an activity we had planned for the kids that day.
I tried to address the issue directly with the host and requested a very reasonable partial refund tied to the delivery issue, but the host was unwilling to refund me for the pickup/delivery problem. The vehicle was what we needed, but the delivery experience and follow-up were disappointing enough that I would not book with this host again, and likely will not use Turo for my family going forward.
